Splash into Science: A Songkran Celebration!

Dear little scientists,

We are so excited to kick off our brand-new blog with a huge splash! To celebrate the upcoming Songkran festival, our studio has officially transformed into a water-themed wonderland for the entire month.

We couldn’t have asked for a better start to this theme than our recent collaboration camp with Priyam’s Kitchen Academy. It was a day filled with curiosity, damp elbows, and some seriously impressive engineering!

How Do Fish Breathe? 🐟

Our young researchers took a deep dive into biology to understand how gills work. Since we can’t exactly grow gills ourselves, we did the next best thing: testing various materials to see how they absorb and filter water. By experimenting with different textures and membranes, the kids saw firsthand how aquatic life manages to “breathe” underwater by straining what they need from the currents around them.

Engineering the Flow ⚙️

The creativity didn’t stop at biology! Moving from the “why” to the “how,” our campers became mini-engineers by building their very own water mills. There is nothing quite like the cheers that erupt when a hand-built wheel finally catches the flow and starts to spin on its own power. It was a fantastic lesson in renewable energy and fluid dynamics (even if we just called it “making things spin with water!”).

What’s Next for April?

With Songkran just around the corner, we are keeping the H2O energy high all month long. Whether we are exploring the science of bubbles, the power of water pressure, or the tradition of the water festival itself, we can’t wait to share these “phygital” learning adventures with you.

Stay tuned to the blog for:

  • Behind-the-scenes looks at our studio projects.
  • Easy science experiments you can try at home.
  • Updates on our latest “janky-cute” creations.

Thank you for joining our community of curious minds. Let’s make some waves!
